  • Sarah is currently working on producing a critical edition of Yo también, Adelita by Consuelo Delgado. The critical edition aims to present an alternative vision of the Mexican revolution, to contribute to our understanding of the suffrage movement of the 1930s and shed light on the life and work of a hereto forgotten author. In relation to the boom femenino mexicano, Sarah is particularly interested in the reception of the novels in Mexico and abroad.

Ana Clavel

(México, 1961). Licenciada en letras hispánicas por la UNAM, es autora de dos libros de cuentos: Fuera de escena (1984) y Amorosos de atar (1992). Becaria de narrativa del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes en 1982, del programa Jóvenes Creadores del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes en 1990 y creador artístico del Sistema Nacional de Creadores del Fonca (2001). Premio Nacional de Cuento "Gilberto Owen" 1991. Ha publicado cuentos en los suplementos de El Nacional, Unomásuno y La Jornada, y en las revistas Dosfilos, El Cuento y Tierra Adentro. Algunos de sus cuentos han sido recogidos en memorias y antologías editadas en español, inglés e italiano, como la Antología del cuento mexicano finisecular, Fiction Internacional. Mexican Fiction y Passione e scrittura. Antologia di narratrice messicana XX secolo. Con la novela Los deseos y su sombra (Alfaguara 2000) resultó finalista del Premio Internacional Alfaguara 1999. Ángeles Mastretta
Ángeles Mastretta nació en Puebla de los Ángeles (México) en 1949. Colabora asiduamente en diversos medios de comunicación de su país. En 1985 publicó su primera novela, Arráncame la vida (Alfaguara, 1996), que obtuvo el Premio Mazatlán de Literatura y se convirtió en un verdadero fenómeno de crítica y ventas, tanto en el mundo de habla hispana como en sucesivas traducciones a catorce idiomas. Mujeres de ojos grandes, su primer libro de cuentos, publicado en 1990, tuvo una acogida similar y ha sido traducido a cinco idiomas. Summary of Projects:

Dr Claire Taylor's research interests include: Latin American women's writing, with a particular focus on the novels of Albalucía Ángel, Carmen Boullosa, Laura Esquivel, Griselda Gambaro and Angélica Gorodischer; Latin American cinema, with a particular interest in the films of María Luisa Bemberg; Latin American popular culture, with a particular interest in popular music and popular fiction; issues in postcolonial studies and Latin American Cyberliterature.

She is a Project Leader on Latin American Cyberculture and Cyberliterature, a collaborative project between Liverpool and the University of Leeds , and is currently working on a co-authored volume, due out in 2009, provisionally entitled Latin@s: The Discourses of Latin American Cyberculture .
