Language Resources Centre

The Language Resources Centre is open to all students and staff who wish to refresh a language they have already studied or begin a new one. The Centre is also open to members of the public for a small fee.
Facilities at the Avenue Campus include:
- a large open learning area
- dedicated French, German and Spanish resources rooms
- two language laboratories
Learners have access to:
- an extensive multi-media collection of topic-based materials
- self-access courses in around thirty languages
- reference books
- multi-lingual dictionaries
- European newspapers and periodicals
- a collection of European Union publications
- satellite television from around the world
- a large library of audio and video recordings
- a range of computer workstations
- email and Internet facilities
- foreign language word processing (Dutch, French, German and Spanish)
- multimedia language learning software
On-line language learning resources (weblinks) consist of:
- dedicated language learning software, including multimedia courses
- electronic dictionaries
- encyclopaedias
- newspapers on CD-ROM

Access to modern languages software and many foreign language materials are also available in resources rooms at the following university sites:
